The EU’s new Digital Omnibus on AI is reshaping the regulatory framework for robotics and Physical AI. Rather than creating parallel compliance regimes, the EU is moving towards a more sector-specific approach under which AI requirements for industrial robotics will increasingly be integrated into existing product legislation, particularly the Machinery Regulation.
