State of Florida delegation visiting EACC Netherlands | ‘Florida, the new Tech Hub of the Americas’

On November 16, 2023 EACC Netherlands and its founding & Presidential Circle Member AKD organise in collaboration with SelectFlorida, the state’s official investment promotion agency (IPA), a seminar on

“Florida, the new Tech Hub of the Americas”

Federal initiatives such as the CHIPS Act entice foreign companies to establish or grow their operations in the USA. The technology, energy and cleantech sectors are key activities that can benefit.

Florida is home to the third-largest tech industry in the United States and booming. Florida also has the 2nd largest medical device manufacturing industry and the 3rd largest pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the USA.

A delegation of government officials from the State of Florida, with Jason Weida, Secretary of Healthcare Administration, TJ Villamil, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Robert Harvey, President & Executive Director of the Florida Opportunity Fund, and Executive Director of the Florida Development Finance Corporation is visiting EACC Netherlands.

09.00 – 11.00: program

  • Secretary Jason Weida and Deputy Secretary TJ Villamil will paint the ecosystem of the industry in Florida, from ICT & Software, Life Sciences & MedTech, Aviation & Aerospace, Cleantech and Logistics & Distribution and Florida’s role as gateway to Latin America. They will explain why so many companies are choosing Florida and how SelectFlorida can support you with information, introductions and incentives.
  • President & Executive Director Robert Harvey will inform us on the Florida Opportunity Fund which provides venture capital to emerging Florida companies and leverages additional capital resources. He will inform you how the fund operates and how they support companies to be successful in Florida.
  • We will hear from Cees Dekker, Network Coordinator Trade & Innovate NL, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) why they established in Florida and what their experience is doing business in Florida and the USA.

SelectFlorida is the state’s official trade and investment promotion agency tasked with supporting Florida’s economic development mission and goals through international partnerships, trade, and foreign direct investment.
