EACC NL roundtable with NFIA: Annual update on Dutch (and European) business climate
On Tuesday November 19, EACC Netherlands and its Presidential Circle Member Deloitte co-host a roundtable session with Hans Kuijpers, Director Investment Projects of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA).
We will continue our annual update with the NFIA and our members on the developments of the Dutch (and European) business climate. In particular, we will discuss ‘How a new Dutch government, low unemployment and shortages in energy drive investment decisions’.
In the previous sessions with the NFIA, we learned that the acquisition strategy for the Netherlands has shifted to focusing on attracting companies that contribute to:
- Climate & Energy
- Digitalisation & Key Technologies
- Circulair Economy
Consequently, NFIA has pivoted its resources towards the following sectors (and niches):
- Agrifood (future foods, ag-tech)
- Chemicals (circular)
- Fintech
- High-Tech Systems & Materials (quantum, semicon)
- ICT (AI, cybersecurity)
- Life Sciences & Health (regenerative medicine, medtech, e-health)
- Maritime industry and water technology
- Sustainable energy (hydrogen, battery technology)
It will be interesting to discuss developments in the competitive position of the Netherlands, compared to other European countries. The session will be organized in a roundtable setting under the ‘Chatham House Rule‘, while Deloitte will host us at their offices in Amsterdam.
