Transatlantic Collaboration on EV Batteries and their Role in the Green Energy Transition
Availability of affordable and flexible battery storage is an important contributor toward clean energy around the world. The EU and U.S. focus heavily on public and private investments in this green energy transition, including EV batteries development.
In 2018, the EU Commission adopted the Strategic Action Plan for Batteries and with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Battery Alliance (EBA) brings together EU national authorities, regions, industry research institutes and other stakeholders in the battery value chain, and oversees the implementation of the strategic action plan for batteries. In January 2020 the U.S. announced the launch of the Energy Storage Grand Challenge, a comprehensive program to accelerate the development, commercialization, and utilization of next-generation energy storage technologies and sustain American global leadership in energy storage. Join us for an update where we are and how experts across the pond are innovating to solve this important hurdle to implement the Green Energy transition.
