Assessing Risk as a Mosaic – How to Risk-proof Your Organization’s Future

Understanding Risk as a Mosaic & Why we Need to Completely Re-assess How we Think About & Plan Ahead for Risk

Risk used to be quantifiable in terms of likelihood and impact, like “black swan” events of low probability but devastating consequences. Risk seemed manageable because it was discrete and quantified

In the post-Covid world, new modes of communication refocused corporations on increased Cyber risk, the increasing complexity of global financial systems illustrated a need to expedite innovation in financial flows and payment systems.

The recent pandemic and the war in Ukraine have painfully illustrated the flaw of that approach led to a realization that risk can no longer be assessed in isolation – both policymakers, companies and investors are adopting a more panoramic approach to view ‘Risk as a Mosaic’.

EACC together with its members is developing a series of webinars to explore how the concept of Risk as a Mosaic and how it applies in diverse contexts – from the environment to finance to new technology – and how perceptions of risk and risk strategies have evolved over recent years. Taking part in the discussion will be prominent experts from diverse fields, all with the common denominator that their roles require foresight, agility, and lateral thinking in a rapidly changing world.

Our first program will lay the groundwork for an in-depth analysis of the above-mentioned topics. If you are curious what the Future holds for you as an individual, your company and society as a whole you don’t want to miss this dialog.

Participants will discuss the following key topics:

Recent examples of high-risk events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the Great Financial Crisis etc. and what we have/can learn(ed) from them
The next great challenge for humanity: climate change & related urban dynamics.
The domino-effect risk posed by intertwined global financial markets and the ease & challenges of the international flow of capital.
Political risks, extremism, and changing voter demographics.
Risk posed by New technology, cyber-security, and the power of social media.
